My Willie Boy...where do I begin? Willie came to me through my friend Ann Marie and Noah's Ark Rescue approx 13 years ago when I was looking for a friend for my cat, Prescott (who has since passed). Willie was the perfect friend to Prescott and he is such a love to me, always wanting to be near me and wanting to be touched, very different from independent Prescott. Willie is the one who is always sitting on my lap seeking the gentle touch of a human. Willie was always a timid boy, running from people and sounds, just not quite sure of the world.
As I write this, part of me is so touched how Willie has fit in no matter what and how he has stepped into his power to become an incredible being. When Jackie came to us as a puppy, Willie walked right up to her and introduced himself (see the below picture of Willie looking at Jackie, seeming to say "what is THAT?") He soon learned he had a new friend to play with and run from. When Prescott passed I watched Willie closely for signs of grief and I did not outright see any.
When we first took Dexter in (thinking we were going to foster), I was very concerned how this may affect Willie's quality of life since he was a timid boy and was afraid of many things. When Dexter came to us Willie's energy totally shifted and he stepped into his new role as head of the house! The first night Dexter was with us, this tiny cat who I feared may be afraid, walked right up to Dexter, smelled his face and proceeded to lay on Dexter's bed ~ taking it over (as shown in the picture). It was incredible to watch Willie transform and step into his place in his new family. Animals are amazing creatures and Dex knew Willie was here first and respected him for it. Watching a 100lb dog submit to a 10lb cat amazes me every day. Out of all of my pets I have seen Willie transform the most, taking on his new role. He actually rules the home of two 100lb German Shepherds! Willie is my visual proof how energy can change and shift to adapt to new circumstances, how we can step into our power when the time is right, and I cannot thank him enough for what he is showing me.
I love my Willster - he is happy, he is healthy, he has stepped into his own power. He is a teacher right in front of me growing, adapting, loving and just BEing. ❤❤❤
